Microsoft's new planner: Here's what you need to know
I speak to many customers and entrepreneurs who use applications like Slack for scheduling tasks and projects alongside their Microsoft365 environment. That adds costs on top of your Microsoft licences.
That there was still some catching up to do to make project management within Microsoft365 even more intuitive and user-friendly had not escaped the developers of the US tech giant either.
That is why the new Planner was announced at Microsoft Ignite of 2023, and the application is now available to all users. And Microsoft wouldn't be Microsoft if it immediately designed a new logo to go with it.
You can now find Microsoft To Do, Microsoft Planner and Microsoft Project all in one place. In fact, Microsoft Planner is now seamlessly integrated into Microsoft Teams, making work management smoother than ever before.
But that's not all. Because even Microsoft Copilot is now integrated into your new Planner.
With eight new features, including a dedicated app within Microsoft Teams, project management directly within Planner, and even automatic task population, your work gets a lot easier.
In addition, the new Planner is designed to scale up from simple task management to full project management. And with seamless integration with other Microsoft 365 apps like Outlook and Viva Goals, your workflow becomes optimal.
In short, Microsoft Planner is poised to become the ultimate tool for managing tasks and projects, whether it's your own to-do's or teamwork.
With its user-friendly interface, flexibility and AI intelligence, it will boost your team's productivity.
So if you have a quiet moment on this Monday: it's definitely worth a try to take a look and plan your first project!
